Our story

Bullockhead Creek Kokikai was founded in September 2009. We converted an old army shop in Centenary Village, Darra. Our first class was held on 25th January 2010, with a handful of adult students.

Our founders were Mark Hatfield (4th dan) and Myriam Raymond (3rd dan). We now have three black belts teaching classes at our dojo: Myriam sensei, Jade Manley, and Chris Dunbar.

We began our current regular children's classes in February 2013. We now have about 45 students in the kids' classes, and 30 attending adults' classes. Many of our adults class students are under 16 years old, and some of those have progressed into adults from the kids classes.

In July 2014 we moved to the Springfield Lakes YMCA Community Centre, and currently teach about nine classes per week.
